DESCRIPTION
Belladonna Tarocco Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) is one of the many “Tarocco” oranges we have in our greenhouse.
ORIGIN
It comes from southern Italy
PLANT
-Tree features: Belladonna Tarocco Sweet Orange is a vigorous variety, with “typical” long and falling branches.
Sometimes thorns can be found too.
-Leaves: Big, lanceolate to Round-shaped leaves, bright green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: It’s usually round to slightly oval in shape. Medium in size.
-Flavour: It’s a sweet and juicy orange. It’s usually seedless.
-Colour: Orange to deep-orange outside.
Orange to red pigmented inside, depending on climate conditions.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It usually ripens during winter. Fruits can hold well on the tree for months.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can squeeze it, making beautiful bloody juices! You can also use it to make delicious salads, marmalades, cakes!
-Ornamental: It’s a strong and vigorous variety.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -9°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
