DESCRIPTION
Sunrise Lime (Microcitrus australasica x Citrus microcarpa) is a curios and unique citrus variety of our collection!

ORIGIN

It comes from Australia, where it was born, derived from a cross of Finger Lime (Caviar lemon) and a Calamondin.

PLANT

-Tree features: This plant is very compact, spherical in shape, and so dark-green in colour.
-Leaves: Leaves are usually small in size, round to oval in shape, extremely dark green in colour and close to each other.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a little yellow kumquat in shape and size.
-Flavour: The Sunrise Lime is similar to a kumquat in taste, with a good lime aftertaste.
-Colour: Fruit is usually yellow to deep yellow in colour, according to ripening.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It starts to produce from Winter to Summer included.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring, but it tends to produce a lot of amazing white flowers almost every season of the year.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: This fruit can be used just like any other kumquat in the kitchen, but also as a little lime.
-Ornamental: Due to its amazing compacted shape and it’s fruiting tendency, this is one of the most curios and interesting ornamental variety of our collection.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -5°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
