-Leaves: Leaves are small in size, round in shape, and usually very variegated in colour.
-Shape: Fruit is a little “round clementine”.
-Flavour: Skin is very sweet in taste, pulp is acid-bitter but refreshing, and a little bit seedy.
-Colour: Fruit is variegated at first, then it becomes orange when fully ripened.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: This is a 4 season Citrus variety. Fruits can be found every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, but flowers can be produced in different periods.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Variegated Calamondin can be highly used in the kitchen.
You can make amazing marmalades with it, but also liquors, desserts and particular sauces.
-Ornamental: For its cold tollerance and its shape, it’s one of the best ornamental Citrus.
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
