DESCRIPTION
Corsican Citron (Citrus medica) is a particular Citron of our collection.

ORIGIN

As the name suggest, it comes from Corsica, the beautiful French island, where it’s been highly grown for years.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is vigorous in shape, with long thorny branches which tend to lignify quickly.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate in shape, medium big in size, bright green in colour.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a round to slightly oval and rough Citron, medium-small in size.
-Flavour: Skin is medium in aroma, and it’s sweet in taste, with a little bitter aftertaste. Pulp is not so juicy, and it’s a little bit seedy.
-Colour: Deep yellow to orange outside, light yellow inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from Winter to Spring time, according to the flowering time.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, but it’s a 4 season variety.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Corsican Citron can be highly used in the kitchen!
Fruit is famous for its amazing candied skin: it’s delicious!
Skin can be zested to give your recipes a special aroma, or used to make salads.
-Ornamental: It’s a good ornamental choice as well.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -5°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
