Hernandina Clementine (Citrus clementina)

DESCRIPTION
Hernandina Clementine (Citrus clementina) is one of the classics clementine we have in our collection.

ORIGIN

It seems to originate from the little city of Picasent, Spain.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is very compact and spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, dark-green in colour. Internodes can be short, that’s why of its compactness.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a medium clementine in size. It’s usually round shaped to slightly flattened at the pole
-Flavour: It’s very sweet. Hernandina Clementine is one of the best clementines, also for its high juice content, and because it’s usually seedless.
-Colour: Orange to deep orange outside.
Pulp is usually light orange in colour.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It usually matures from January to March according to climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: As a clementine, you can eat it peeled, it’s so sweet!
You can also squeeze it to make delicious juices.

-Ornamental: It’s a nice looking ornamental variety, for its shape and its colour.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
