DESCRIPTION
Star Ruby Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is one of the best quality grapefruit of our collection.
ORIGIN
It seems to come from U.S.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is compact in shape, with long and sometimes falling branches.
-Leaves: Lanceolate to round-shaped bright green.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is usually round to slightly Flattened at the pole, medium big in size.
-Flavour: It tastes sweet with a bloody aftertaste. Skin is aromatic too.
-Colour: Pink to red-pink depending on climate conditions. Pulp is red in colour and very juicy.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It tends to produce during winter, from November to February about. Fruits hold well on the tree.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: It’s a high quality fruits.
It can be squeezed to make delicious juices, or also zested to give a special flavour to your recipes!
-Ornamental: Star Ruby Grapefruit is a beautiful ornamental variety, for its colour and shape.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
