DESCRIPTION
Lane Late Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) as the name suggest, is a highly grown late orange variety
ORIGIN
It comes from Spain, where it’s intensively grown for its late attitude.
PLANT
-Tree features: It’s a compact spherical shaped plant.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, very dark-green in colour. Internodes seem to be very short from each other.
FRUIT
-Shape: Lane Late Sweet Orange is usually round in shape.
-Flavour: it’s a very sweet and fleshy variety.
-Colour: It’s yellow orange to orange outside, depending on the harvesting time.
Pulp is usually yellow to light orange, and seedless.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from March to May about.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: As a sweet orange, it can be used in different ways.
You can squeeze it to drink refreshing juices, or zest it to give special flavours to your recipes.
-Ornamental: Its compactness and its dark-green colour, give the plant a special ornamental value.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -9°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
