DESCRIPTION
Lemon x Clementine (Citrus limon x Citrus clementina) is a particular citrus hybrid of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know its origin at the moment, it probably comes from southern Italy.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is compact-spherical in shape, a little bit thorny and medium in vigour.
-Leaves: Leaves are extremely dark-green in colour, lanceolate to slightly round shaped, medium in size.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is like a big orange and rough lemon in size and shape.
-Flavour: Skin is aromatic and intense in flavour. Pulp is refreshing, and it resembles more the ones of a Lemon, more than a clementine.
-Colour: Yellow orange to deep orange outside, according to the harvesting time, light orange inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from December to Spring.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, but flowers can be discovered in other seasons of the year.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Lemon x Clementine can be used just like a classic lemon in the kitchen.
Skin is thicker, good to be candied or zested according to your needs!
-Ornamental: It’s a good looking ornamental plant because of its dark-green colour and its fruit.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
