Citrange-quat 4 Season (Fortunella margarita x (Poncirus trifoliata x Citrus sinensis))
DESCRIPTION
Citrange-quat 4 season (Fortunella margarita x (Poncirus trifoliata x Citrus sinensis)) is a very particular variety.
It’s a hybrid between… a hybrid and a kumquat. It may seems funny but its caracteristics are so interesting.
PLANT
-Tree features: Citrange-quat 4 season is a very low growing variety. Obviously, because of the Poncirus trifoliata inside, it takes years to grow.
It’s a very compact plant.
-Leaves: Very small dark green leaves, with short internodes.
FRUIT
-Taste: it tastes like a lemon. It’s a little bit acid, but skin can be used too.
-Colour: Yellow outside, light yellow inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
As the name suggests, it’s a 4 season variety.
It blooms almost every season, and fruits can be found every season of the year too.
This feature makes it a very kind variety to grow.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: you can squeez it like a lemon, but also zest it to make cakes, or give your meals a refreshing taste.
-Ornamental: It’s one of the most beautiful ornamental plant. Its slow and compact growing, but also its strong tendency to flowering and fruiting, makes it one of the best good looking variety.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
