Classic Hanayuzu (Citrus junos) is a particular high quality variety coming from Japan.
-Tree features: It’s not so vigorous, branches tend to create a spherical shape.
-Leaves: Leaves resemble the ones of Yuzu. They are dark-green in colour.
Thorns can be found.
–Shape: Round-shaped to slightly flattened at the poles.
-Taste: very aromatic. Pulp is acid, with a particular Yuzu aroma, very delicious to smell.
Also skin smell amazing!
-Colour: Light Yellow to deep yellow depending on the harvesting time.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from September to January, depending on climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Just like a Yuzu, also Classic Hanayuzu can be used in a milion ways. You can zest the skin on fish or meat, squeeze it to marinate raw fish or meat.
Marmalades are also amazing and delicious.
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful variety in therms of colour and cold resistence too.
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
