DESCRIPTION
Pear-shaped Furrowed Lemon (Citrus limon) is a particular Citrus variety of our collection.
It’s also called “Palermo Lemon”.

ORIGIN

We still don’t know its origin.
It probably comes from southern Italy.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is vigorous in growth, with long branches which tend to fall sometimes.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, big in size, dark-green in colour.
Sometimes leaves can also be variegated, and that’s a peculiarity.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a small furrowed lemon in size, with a particular pear-shape.
-Flavour: Its aroma is very similar to the one of a lemon. Pulp is highly juicy, with just a few seeds.
-Colour: Skin is bright yellow to light yellow, according to the harvesting time.
Pulp is usually light yellow.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: Pear-shaped Furrowed Lemon starts to produce fruits during Winter, but it
It usually starts to bloom during Spring, but flowers can be found in other seasons of the year.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be used just like a classic lemon in the Kitchen.
You can zest or slice the skin to aromatize various recipes, or simply using the juice!
-Ornamental: It’s a nice looking variety, for its tendency to produce variegated leaves, and very particular fruits in shape.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
