SPHEROIDAL LEMON
DESCRIPTION
Spheroidal lemon is a particular lemon variety in our collection, this is probably a mutation took place in our greenhouse
PLANT
-Tree features:We can say that it is a mutation of a common lemon, the vegetation differs from the common lemon in that it has much shorter internodes, the leaves are similar, while the one that changes is the fruit, this in fact always assumes a very spherical shape
-Leaves: Leaves are green and are lanceolate, not too much large
FRUIT
-Shape: The fruit is medium-small in size, the rind is very fragrant, while the juice is the classic acid of lemon
-Taste: the fruit is very particular , it’s medium small size, the juice is acid and the rind is very fragrant
-Colour: fruit colour is yellow when ripe
SEASON OF RIPENESS
The spheroidal lemon plant is considered remontant, the maximum flowering occurs in spring, approximately April-May, then it can bloom again during the rest of the year in less quantity.
Being remontant, the fruit can be found on the plant throughout the year
It usually blooms during spring
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen:A classic lemon that we can always use, the zest is very fragrant and can be grated on fish or meat, the acid juice can be used anywhere
-Ornamental :We can grow it well in pots given its characteristics of bushy appearance, but we can also plant it in our garden, just protect it from frosts
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8 degrees
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
