DESCRIPTION
Australian Desert Lime (Eremocitrus glauca) is a particular lime variety.
ORIGIN
As the name suggest, it’s from Australia, where it grew wild in arid zones.
Infact, it’s been able to reproduce itself in the “dry steppe”, north-east Australia.
This is a resistent variety. It can resist to arid and salty substrates.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour, with long falling branches, sometimes thorny too.
-Leaves: Leaves are small, very lanceolate and long in shape, with a particular “grey-green” colour, typical of the “Eremocitrus”.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is very small, just like a blueberry in size, round in shape.
-Flavour: It’s flavour is so interesting. It seems to be aromatic in skin and pulp.
-Colour: light green to slightly yellow outside, according to the harvesting time.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from September to November according to climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Australian desert Lime can be highly used in the kitchen. You can squeeze it, or zest it according to your needs.
Marmalades are amazing, but also fish, meat, vegetables! You can also make a refreshing tea with it!
-Ornamental: It’s a particular ornamental plant, for its grey colour and its shape.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -2°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
