DESCRIPTION
Roman Sweet Limette (Citrus limetta) is a particular acidless Citrus variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know its origin at the moment.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is very compact-spherical in shape, sometimes a little bit thorny too.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate and bright green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is usually small to medium in size, round in shape, with a particular indentation on the apex
-Flavour: This is a juicy, acidless and just a few seedy variety.
-Colour: Bright yellow to deep yellow outside according to the harvesting time.
Light yellow inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It’s a 4 season variety. It tends to produce fruits every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring, but flowers can be found in other periods too.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: For its sweetness, it can be squeezed like an orange.
However it can also be zested according to your needs in the kitchen.
-Ornamental: It’s a great ornamental choice for its sweetness and its 4 season tendency
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -5°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
