DESCRIPTION
Avana Seedless Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) is a sweet high quality Mandarin.
As the name suggest, there’s no seeds inside.
PLANT
-Tree features: plant is compact-spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are extremely dark-green in colour. Internodes tend to be short, that’s why its shape is nice.
Sometimes thorns can be found.
FRUIT
–Shape: Round to slightly flattened at the poles, depending on growth.
-Taste: It tastes so sweet and juicy. It’s a high quality Mandarin.
It’s a seedless variety (there’s a maximu of 1-2 seeds per fruit).
-Colour: Bright orange to light orange depending on the Harvesting time.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Avana Seedless Mandarin starts to ripen from November to January about.
It usually blooms during Spring. Flowers are white and extremely fragrant.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Avana Seedless Mandarin is a great choice in the kitchen.
Its intense aroma makes it one of the best fruit to make “mandarincello”, liquors, desserts and particular recipes.
-Ornamental: Its shape, especially with flowers and fruits on it, makes it a great ornamental choice too.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -7°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
