DESCRIPTION
King Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) is the biggest Mandarin in the World.

ORIGIN

We still don’t know its origin. It probably comes from Asia.

PLANT

-Tree features: A very vigorous plant, with long and a little bit thorny branches.
-Leaves: Medium, lanceolate leaves, dark-green in colour.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is impressing! It can be 5 times bigger than a classic mandarin. It’s usually round to slightly flattened at the poles.
-Flavour: King Mandarin is a little bit seedy and juicy inside.
-Colour: Deep orange to bright orange according to the harvesting periods.
Pulp is light orange in colour.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from January to May, according to climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring Time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: This fruit can be a good choice in the kitchen. Skin can be candied as it’s so big.
It can also be used squeezed or zested, according to your needs!
-Ornamental: It’s one of the most impressive mandarin of our collection!

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
