DESCRIPTION
Sunky Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) is one of the most cold resistent Citrus we have in our list!

PLANT
-Tree features: It’s a highly compacted and spherical shape plant.
-Leaves: Leaves are small and particular in shape. Internodes are very short, that’s why it’s so compact.

FRUIT
Shape: Round to slightly flattened at the poles.
-Taste: Its tase is unique. It’s not a very sweet mandarin, but so particular in flavour. Zesting or squeezing it, you can smell a particular oriental fragrance.
Flavour let me feel like being in an asian city! It’s acid like a lemon inside, but you can smell and taste a particular Indian-Oriental world in it!
-Colour: Orange to deep orange depending on climate conditions.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
Sunky Mandarin starts to ripen from November to January.
It usually blooms during Spring. Flowers are little, white and intense.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: We think the best way to use it it’s zested and squeezed.
You can combine it with fish, meat or vegetables, it gives a particular cumin flavour.
-Ornamental: it’s a beautiful compact plant!

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
