DESCRIPTION
Meraviglia Pomelo (Citrus grandis), (in English wonder Pomelo) is one of the most particular and big citrus we have in our collection.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is so vigorous, branches (which have the traditional hair on the skin) tends to lignify quickly, it is of fast growing.
-Leaves: Big leaves are lanceolate to round-shaped, also with little hairs .
FRUIT
–Shape: Meraviglia Pomelo is Pear-shaped, sometimes it can become more round, according to its growth.
-Taste: Sweet, with a little bitter aftertaste.
-Colour: Yellow to deep yellow outside. Pulp is light yellow at first, then it becomes pink.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from November to February depending on climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can use it to make amazing Pomelo salads.
It’s also great to make candied peels. Obviously you can also taste it like a grapefruit.
-Ornamental: Looking at those giant citrus, is just impressing.
