DESCRIPTION
Timor Pomelo (Citrus grandis) is one of the best Pomelo varieties, in therms of fruit size and growth.
It seems to be the biggest Pomelo in the World.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plants are usually very vigorous, you can actually see branches growing very fast, lignifying quickly.
-Leaves: Leaves present little hairs on the skin, they are lanceolate, dark-green in colour.
FRUIT
–Shape: Round to Oblate, to slightly pear-shaped.
-Taste: It’s a sweet Pomelo. Timor Pomelo taste good when completely ripened.
-Colour: Light yellow to yellow outside. Slightly pink inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from November to February depending on climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: As every pomelo, you can use this fruit to make amazing pomelo salads.
You can also peel it and eat it like a classic Citrus. Skin can be used to be candied too!
-Ornamental: Its ornamental value is due to its vigory and tendency to grow fast.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
