DESCRIPTION
Seville Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium) is a cold tollerant Citrus variety.

ORIGIN

It probably comes from Spain, as the name suggest.

PLANT

-Tree features: It’s a vigorous plant, with long and thorny branches.
-Leaves: Lanceolate, dark-green leaves.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is usually round-shaped.
-Flavour: The skin is highly aromatic. Pulp is juicy, usually seedy and bitter
-Colour: Orange to deep orange outside.
Light orange inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It’s a 4 season variety. It tends to produce fruits almost every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time. However, Seville Bitter Orange can produce flowers during summer and Autumn too.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: “Seville Orange marmalades” are a must! You can also zest the fruit to make aromatic liquors, or to aromatize different kind of recipes.
-Ornamental: High ornamental value, due to its shape and its tendency to produce fruits and flowers.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
