DESCRIPTION
Tarocco Lempso Blood Orange (Citrus sinensis) is a unique mediterranean variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
This variety comes probably from the southern countries of Europe.
PLANT
-Tree features: This plant is usually vigorous, with big and sometimes long falling branches.
-Leaves: Leaves are big, lanceolate, light green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: The fruit is usually round, to slightly oblate in shape.
-Flavour: The flavour is delicious: It really tastes like a blood orange, with a berries aftertaste. The fruit is also very juicy.
-Colour: The fruit is usually deep orange to slightly red in colour, depending on the season.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: Fruits are usually ready from January to March, according to many factors.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Tarocco Lempso Blood Orange (Citrus sinensis) can be highly used in the kitchen, thanks to its amazing colour and taste: with it you can prepare delicious marmalades, desserts, cakes, but also mediterranean salads, carpaccio and so on!
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
