DESCRIPTION
Variegated Macrophylla or Alemow (Citrus macrophylla) is one of the most cold resistent and highly ornamental valued Citrus in our collection.

PLANT
-Tree features: Compact and spherical in shape, with short and thorny branches.
-Leaves: Little, variegated in colour, lanceolate to bilobate leaves can be found.

FRUIT
Shape: Round to slightly oval in shape.
-Taste: It tastes bitter/acid.
Seeds can be found inside.
-Colour: Different colours (green, yellow and dark-green) can be seen when not copletely ripened.
Then it becomes light yellow.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
Variegated Macrophylla is a 4 season variety. It can produce fruits in different seasons of the year.
It usually blooms during Spring, but flowers can be found in Summer and Autumn also.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can squeeze it like a classic lemon.
-Ornamental: its ornamental value is impressing. It’s a generous, coloured and compact plant.
Also it’s so resistent to cold.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
