LA PIANTA
Il Finger Lime Bianco (Microcitrus australasica) appartiene al gruppo dei Limoni caviale.
Ha una vegetazione molto cespugliosa.
La foglia è piccola piccola. La pianta presenta molte spine e tende ad accestire molto bene.
IL FRUTTO
Il frutto è un classico Finger Lime.
All’ interno, sono presenti le classiche “vescicole” che al gusto scoppiettano in bocca, rilasciando un aroma agrumato con dei sentori di cocco.
QUANDO MATURA E QUANDO FIORISCE
La maturazione del Finger Lime Bianco avviene tra metà Ottobre e metà Dicembre, a seconda dell’ andamento climatico.
La fioritura avviene in Primavera, ma durante l’ anno possono comunque formarsi delle infiorescenze.
COME UTILIZZARLO?
Il frutto è molto utilizzato nella cucina ricercata.
Spremendo il frutto, come un limone, anzichè il frutto escono queste palline, ottime e aromatiche, da accostare a del pesce (specialmente il crudo) ma anche a carne e verdure.
RESISTENZA AL FREDDO
Per quanto riguarda la resistenza al freddo, ci basiamo su quelle che sono state le nostre prove.
In ambiente riparato (nelle nostre serre), o riparato adeguatamente ha resistito fino a una temperatura di -8°
Per quanto riguarda la coltivazione, questa varietà necessita le stesse cure di un limone classico!
