Green Fingerlime (Microcitrus australasica)

DESCRIPTION
Green Fingerlime (Microcitrus australasica) is one of the most fragrand and high quality Citrus of Australia.
It’s also called “Caviar Lime” and vegetable caviar for the vesicles which can be found inside.

PLANT
-Tree features: It’s a very arbustive and compact plant. There are a lot of thorns, it’s impenetrable!

-Leaves: Leaves are very small and round to heart shaped. Fooliage tends to be dark green.

FRUIT
-Taste: Its taste is amazing and aromatic. By eating it you can feel those little vesicles which pops in your mouth.
You can feel the lime flavour, with a particular pepper aroma.

-Colour: Green to slightly brown outside, depending on the climate.
Ligght green inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
Green Fingerlime starts to ripen from September to November, according to climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring. However sometimes, some flowers can be found in other periods of the year.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: There’s a bilion of receipes and ideas to use it. You can add it simply to fish or meat.
You can combine it with oysters, or raw fish in general.

-Ornamental: It’s also a good ornamental choice for its shape.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
