DESCRIPTION
Ichang-quat (Ichangensis x Fortunella margarita) is a particular cold resistent hybrid.

PLANT
-Tree features: Very compact/arbustive plant. It seems to be spherical in growing, obviously depending on pruning too.
-Leaves: Small,dark green lanceolate leaves, sometimes roundshape.
There are a lot of thorns, that’s why it can be used to create hedges too!

FRUIT
-Taste: It’s a little bit bitter/acid. Skin seems to be more fragrant. It’s basically like a kumquat with a lemon taste and seeds inside.
-Colour: Yellow, to dark yellow depending on the period of harvest.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from October to January, but fruits can be found in other periods of the year.

It usually blooms during spring, but it can flower almost every season of the year (except for winter, obviously).

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Ichang-quat can be squeezed like a lemon, or to make marmalades.

-Ornamental: It’s a beuaitul compact and nice looking plant. It takes fast to produce fruits and flowers.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
