DESCRIPTION
Tarocco Ippolito Orange (Citrus sinensis) is one of the most quality Tarocco oranges known.
Why? Because of its colour, its consistence and its taste.
PLANT
-Tree features: Branches tend to fall, because they get really long.
-Leaves: Leaves are big, green, lanceolate to round shaped.
FRUIT
–Shape: Tarocco Ippolito Orange is round to oblate according to how it grew.
-Taste: It’s so sweet! One of the sweetest Tarocco oranges we have in our collection.
-Colour: Skin is usually orange to deep orange, pulp, according to the climate, can pigment more or less.
Sometimes it becomes so bloody inside, and it’s a pleasure to see it.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from December to February, but it helds well on the tree for several months.
It usually blooms during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can squeeze it to make a traditional and red orange juice. It’s also great eaten like usual.
Zest can be used to make cakes and liquors. Marmalades are a great choice too.
-Ornamental: It’s a vigorous and strong plant to grow.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
