DESCRIPTION
Tarocco x Clementine (Citrus sinensis x Citrus clementina) is a particular Citrus hybrid.
PLANT
-Tree features: Compact fooliage, similar to a clementine, with stronger branches, which tends to lignify quickly, following a classic “Tarocco Orange” growing.
-Leaves: Leaves are big and lanceolate. Tarocco x Clementine produce dark green leaves, and a lot of thorns.
FRUIT
-Taste: Very similar to a classic Tarocco Orange taste, sweet, with a medium level of juice. Pulp is really fleshy.
-Colour: Orange to deep orange depending on climate. Sometimes it can become a little bit bloody, especially inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from the end of November to February, depending on climate .
It usually blooms during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can squeeze it like a classic orange, or eat it simply.
There’s a big skin, useful to be candied or zested in a milion of cakes. Also good to make marmalades and salads.
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful compact plant, nice looking!
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
