Chocolate Navel Orange (Citrus sinensis) is one of the most particular and interesting oranges.
Its colour makes it unique.
PLANT
-Tree features: Very vigorous, it tends to be spherical and compact in growing.
-Leaves: Fooliage tends to be so dark-green. Leaves are quite small and
FRUIT
-Taste: Chocolate Navel Orange is so sweet in taste, very similar to Navel Orange.
-Colour: It’s Yellow/Orange inside. Skin is Brown like chocolate, making it one of the most unique oranges known.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from mid-November to January, depending on weather conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: We can use it like a classic orange.
Very sweet if added to salad, for a refreshing orange juice. Useful in making cakes, also candied.
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful plant, it looks good. You can grow it in containers or put it on the ground!
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
