Early Clementine (Citrus clementina)

DESCRIPTION
Early clementine (Citrus clementina) is a delicious variety in our greenhouse.

ORIGIN

We still don’t know its origin at the moment.
It probably comes from Northern Africa (Algeria) where it’s been discovered hundreds of years ago.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is very compact-spherical in shape and growth.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, medium-small in size and bright green in colour.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a classic seedless clementine variety. It can be round or slightly flattened at the poles in shape.
-Flavour: This is one of the sweetest clementines. Pulp is fleshy and delicious in taste.
-Colour: Orange to deep orange outside, light orange inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: As the name suggest, this is a early ripening Citrus variety (it starts to produce from November to December).
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be squeezed to make delicious and sweet clementine juices, or zested to make cakes.
-Ornamental: Its shape makes it a good ornamental choice.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
