DESCRIPTION
Fukumoto Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) is a particular early ripening variety in our Citrus collection.
ORIGIN
It comes from Japan, where it’s highly grown for its early ripening.
PLANT
-Tree features: It’s a compact, spherical shaped plant, similar to a Washington navel orange in shape and size.
-Leaves: Lanceolate, dark-green leaves.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is usually round.
-Flavour: It’s a sweet orange. Pulp is juicy and so sweet. It is usually seedless.
-Colour: Orange to deep orange outside depending on the harvesting time.
Pulp is usually light orange in colour.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from October to December.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Fukumoto Sweet Orange can be used as any different orange.
You can squeeze it, zest it to make cakes, marmalades, fish and meat recipes.
-Ornamental: Beautiful for its compactness and dark-green colour.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
