DESCRIPTION
Vozza Vozza Citron (Citrus medica) is a particular Citrus variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know exactly its origin, it probably comes from Southern Italy.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour, sometimes a little bit thorny, and tends to lignify quickly.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate to round in shape, medium-big in size, dark-green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is long in shape, big in size.
-Flavour: Skin is extremely fragrant, intense in aroma, very similar to Bergamots in flavour.
-Colour: Green to light yellow when fully ripened. Pulp is usually light in colour.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It starts to produce fruits from Winter to Spring time.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, but flowers can be produced in other seasons too.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Vozza Vozza Citron can be highly used in the kitchen.
Fruit can be candied whole, or zested to produce amazing liquors and drinks.
-Ornamental: It’s a nice looking ornamental plant for its strong shape.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
