DESCRIPTION
Pear-shaped Lemon (Citrus limon) is a particular Citrus variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know its origin at the moment, it seems to originate from Portugal.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is medium in growth, compact-spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are slightly willow in shape, medium in size, bright green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit, as the name suggest, is a Pear-shaped Lemon, and it’s medium in size.
-Flavour: Skin is aromatic in flavour. Pulp is juicy, seedy and refreshing in taste.
-Colour: Fruit is usually deep yellow outside, pulp is light yellow in colour.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: This variety tends to be 4 season in flowering. So it produces fruits almost every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, then it can continue during Summer and Autumn also.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be used just like any other lemon variety.
You can make amazing recipes with it! You can zest the skin to aromatize fish or meat, or squeeze de juice to refresh and marinate food!
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful ornamental variety for its particular pear shape.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
