DESCRIPTION
Oroblanco Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is a acidless grapefruit variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
Oroblanco is a hybrid of 2N acidless pummelo and 4N seedy white grapefruit from California.
PLANT
-Tree features: It’s a compact and spherical shaped plant. Sometimes little thorns can be found.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, bright green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is usually round to slightly flattened at the pole, medium big in size.
-Flavour: This is one of the sweetest grapefruit of our collection. Pulp is highly juicy and usually seedless.
-Colour: Skin is light yellow to deep yellow in colour.
Pulp is light yellow in colour.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It starts to ripen from December to January according to climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Oroblanco Grapefruit can be eaten peeled just like a classic orange.
Also candied or zested is a good choice!
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful strong ornamental plant, for its shape and its fruit.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
