Borneo Lemon (Citrus limon)

DESCRIPTION
Borneo Lemon (Citrus limon) is a particular high quality Citrus variety coming from Asia.

ORIGIN
It takes origin from southern-east Asia.

PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is highly vigorous, with strong branches which lignify quickly.
-Leaves: Leaves are big, dark-green in colour and quite round to lanceolate.

FRUIT
Shape: Fruit is a big rough lemon in size and shape.
-Taste: It tastes just like a classic lemon, but it smells like a Bergamot, so it’s a high aromatic lemon.
It is seedy inside.
-Colour: Yellow to deep yellow according to the harvesting time.
Pulp is light yellow inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
Borneo Lemon starts to ripen from November to January according to climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: this big lemon can be used just like a classic lemon. It can be squeezed, or zested to create delicious recipes.
So you can make marmalades, liquors, fish and meat recipes.
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful strong plant, with big dark-green leaves.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
