DESCRIPTION
Sweet Limoncino or Pursha (Citrus limetta) is one of the most generous and delicious Citrus variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know its origins, it probably comes from a cross between a Chinotto sour orange and a lemon.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is very compact in shape, spherical in growing.
-Leaves: Leaves are round to slightly lanceolate in shape, small in size and bright green in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is a little yellow mandarin in size and shape.
-Flavour: Pulp tastes like a lemon, but it’s more sweet, and more gentle in your mouth.
That’s why, you can eat it like a mandarin!
-Colour: Light yellow to deep yellow according to climate conditions.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: This is a 4 season Citrus variety: so it can produce fruits every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, then it continues during Summer and Autumn.
Flowers are white in colour and intense in aroma.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be eaten just like a mandarin! It’s so delicious!
Skin can be used too, making liquors, like limoncello, or simply giving your recipes a special refreshing aroma.
-Ornamental: It’s one of the most attractive ornamental citrus for its fruiting and its colour.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
