Pink-Lime (Citrus limetta)
DESCRIPTION
Pink-Lime (Citrus limetta) is a very particular variety of lime.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant tends to become so compact and spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Small round shaped and dark green leaves create a good looking impact.
FRUIT
–Shape: Round to slightly flattened at the poles.
-Taste: Acid and aromatic, similar to a Tahitian Lime.
Seeds can be found inside.
-Colour: Pink-orange outside, extremely pink inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Pink-Lime starts to ripen from November to February about, depending on climate conditions.
It usually blooms during Spring, but flowers can be seen in other periods of the year.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: It can be used as a lime, squeezing it and zesting it on fish, meat or vegetables.
Its colour makes it very cool to use, creating new ways of cooking and plating.
-Ornamental: Of course it’s a beautiful variety to see, because of its shape and its colour.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -5°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
