DESCRIPTION
Late Clementine (Citrus clementina) is a good quality Citrus variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know its origin.
It probably originates from Algeria or Northern-Africa.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is usually spherical-compact in shape, and usually thornless.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate in shape, medium-small in size, bright green in colour.
Internodes seem to be short from each other, that’s why of its compactness.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is a small round to slightly flattened at the poles clementine.
-Flavour: It’s so juicy, usually seedless, with a fine peel.
-Colour: Orange to deep orange outside, light orange inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: Fruits usually start to ripen from January to Spring time, according to climate conditions: it’s a late ripening variety.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be used just like a classic mandarin.
You can squeeze it, eat it piece after piece, or zest it according to your needs.
-Ornamental: It’s a nice looking ornamental variety for its particular shape.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
