DESCRIPTION
Duncan Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) is one of the oldest cold tollerant grapefruit varieties of our collection.

ORIGIN

We still don’t know its origin. It seems to be one of the oldest Citrus variety.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is compact in shape, with a tendency to be spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are usually bright green in colour, lanceolate to slightly round.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is usually round shaped, sometimes slightly flattened at the pole.
-Flavour: Skin is aromatic if zested. Pulp is a little bit acid-bitter according to the harvesting time.
-Colour: Duncan Grapefruit is usually light yellow to deep yellow outside, light yellow inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It tends to produce fruits from January to May, and it holds well on the tree.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, however it can bloom in other seasons of the year.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Skin can be candied or zested.
You can also squeeze it to drink a refreshing grapefruit juice.
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful ornamental and cold tollerant Citrus variety.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -10°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
