DESCRIPTION
Furrowed Lemon (Citrus limon calaniculated) is one of the most historical and traditional Citrus of Tuscany.

ORIGIN

We still don’t know its real origin. But we know it’s been highly grown by the “Medici family” in Florence.
We still have ancient plants of this variety in different gardens of Florence.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour, with long branches.
-Leaves: Leaves are usually bright in colour, and lanceolate.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is so particular in shape, and similar to a classic lemon in size.
Furrowed Lemon, as the name suggest, has typical furrowed ring.
-Flavour: It tastes just like a classic lemon.
-Colour: Light Yellow to bright yellow depending on the harvesting time.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It usually ripens during winter, but fruits can hold well on the tree for several months.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Very particular for its shape, not too much for its flavour.
Infact, it can be used just like a classic lemon in the kitchen. You can zest the skin, or squeeze the juice to make different delicious recipes.
-Ornamental: High ornamental value because of its particular shape.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
