DESCRIPTION
Variegated Tahitian Lime (Citrus latifolia foolis variegatis) is a particular lime variety in our Citrus list.
PLANT
-Tree features: Very similar to a classic Tahiti Lime in shape. It produces compacted and spherical branches.
-Leaves: leaves are slightly lanceolate, dark-green in colour, with short internodes.
FRUIT
–Shape: This fruit is a classic lime in shape and size.
-Taste: It tastes acid, with a good lime aroma. Skin is so aromatic.
-Colour: Bright green to light yellow depending on the harvesting time.
Always a good choice to pick it when it’s still green.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Variegated Tahitian Lime is a 4 season variety. It can produce fruits 2/3 times per year depending on the growing method.
It usually blooms during Spring time, but flowers can be seen durin Summer and Autumn also.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Zesting it is one of the best choices! You can add it to fish, meat or vegetables, giving them a good refreshing aroma.
You can also use it to make delicious drinks (one of the most famous is Mojito, obviously).
-Ornamental: it’s a dark-green nice looking plant.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -4°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
