Tardivo di Ciaculli Mandarin (Citrus reticulata)

DESCRIPTION
Tardivo di Ciaculli Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) is a medium late mandarin variety of our collection.

ORIGIN

It seems to originate from southern Italy, a little town in Sicily.
“Ciaculli”, near Palermo.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant tends to be highly compact-spherical in shape, only sometimes a little bit thorny.
-Leaves: Leaves are bright-green in colour, lanceolate, small in size and particulary fragrant.

FRUIT

-Shape: This is the classic Mandarin. It’s medium in size.
-Flavour: It’s very aromatic, one of the best quality mandarin of our greenhouse.
Pulp is usually seedy and juicy.
-Colour: Light orange outside and inside.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: It starts to produce fruits during Winter, then it holds well on the tree until March, April about.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: For its aroma, it can be used to make amazing sorbetto, marmalades, liquors cakes.
There’s a bilion of recipes you can do with it.
-Ornamental: Tardivo di Ciaculli Mandarin is a great ornamental choice too, for its shape and its colour.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
