DESCRIPTION
De Lima Sweet Lime (Citrus limettoides) is a particular Citrus variety in our collection.

ORIGIN
It probably originates from South America.

PLANT
-Tree features: Plants tend to be compact and spherical in shape. Branches are sometimes thorny and tend to lignify quickly.
-Leaves: Leaves are round to lanceolate, and dark-green in colour.

FRUIT
Shape: Fruit is usually round to lemon shaped. Skin is really smooth.
-Taste: It’s a sweet, juicy and seedless fruit.
-Colour: Light yellow to yellow depending on the harvesting time.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from November to January according to climate conditions, but fruits can be seen in other periods of the year.
It usually blooms during Spring, but also in other seasons.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: De Lima Sweet Lime is, as the name suggest, edible like an orange.
You can also zest it, or squeeze it to create new delicious recipes!
-Ornamental: High ornamental value, because of its shape and colour when fruits are on it.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
