DESCRIPTION
Nine Pounder Lemon (Citrus limon) is one of the biggest lemon we have in our Citrus collection.

PLANT
-Tree features: Plant tends to be highly vigorous, with long branches which lignify quickly.
So you need to prune it more often.
-Leaves: Big leaves, lanceolate to round shaped, dark-green in colour.
Sometimes thorns can be found.

FRUIT
–Shape: This fruit resembles to a little Citron.
Oval to oblate in shape.
-Taste: Albedo (White part of the skin) is sweet and fleshy. Juice is a little bit acid. Flavedo (yellow part of the skin) is aromatic but bitter.
-Colour: Yellow to deep yellow depending on the harvesting time.

SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from November to January about.
It usually blooms during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Nine Pounder Lemon can be highly used in the kitchen.
Albedo is a great choice to be candied, or to make delicious salads. Flavedo can be used to make an amazing limoncello.
You can also squeez the fruit, and use it like a classic Lemon.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -5°C.

This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
