DESCRIPTION
Zagara Bianca Femminello Lemon (Citrus limon) is one of the most traditional, high quality lemon variety in our greenhouse!
ORIGIN
It seems to originate from southern italy, especially Sicily, where it’s actually grown a lot.
PLANT
-Tree features: plant is medium in vigour and size, classic in growth, just like a classic lemon.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate in shape, dark-green in colour, medium in size.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is slightly round shape, a little bit bigger than a classic lemon in size. Skin is also thicker!
-Flavour: Skin is so aromatic, and thick! Pulp is refreshing in taste, juicy and a little bit seedy.
-Colour: bright yellow outside, light yellow inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: Zagara Bianca Femminello Lemon is somewhat 4 season in flowering. So it basically produces fruits almost every season.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, then it can continue during Summer and Autumn also.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be highly used in the kitchen!
The amazing skin can be used to make delicious Limoncellos, liquors, candied peels and to aromatize fish and meat!
Juice can be squeezed to make sweet teas, sauces, and also simply to be drank with water in the morning!
-Ornamental: It’s a nice ornamental variety for its shape, and its beautiful white and fragrant flower!
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
