DESCRIPTION
Nucellar Moro Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) has been obtained from a clone found in Sicily 40 years ago.
ORIGIN
It comes from Sicily, southern Italy.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour, with medium-small leaves and short internodes. It usually is compact in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, light green in colour, medium in size.
FRUIT
-Shape: Nucellar Moro Sweet Orange is round to slightly oval in shape, medium to small-medium in size, according to fertilization and climate conditions.
-Flavour: It is very intense in flavour, due to its pigments content.
-Colour: It can be deep orange to deep red-purple, according to climate conditions, rootstocks, fertilization, and thermal shock
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It usually ripens during December-February according to climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: This fruit can be used just like a classic orange. Juice is one of the best we all know! Also you can simply eat it into pieces like classic.
It is also amazing to bake, make liquors, delicious salads and marmalades.
-Ornamental: Good looking plant due to its compactness.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
