Furrowed Lemon 2 (Citrus limon calaniculata)

DESCRIPTION
Furrowed Lemon 2 (Citrus limon calaniculata) is a particular lemon variety of our collection.

ORIGIN

It seems to originate from Italy, where it’s been grown since the “Medici family”, in the beautiful gardens of Florence.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour and size, similar to a classic lemon in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, medium in size and dark-green in colour.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a classic lemon in shape and size. It has those visible furrows on the skin.
-Flavour: Skin is aromatic in flavour. Pulp is acid, sometimes seedy and refreshing in taste.
-Colour: Light yellow to deep yellow outside, according to the harvesting time.
Pulp is light yellow in colour.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: Plant tends to ripen from November to Spring according to climate conditions.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, but it can continue during Summer and Autumn.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Furrowed Lemon 2 is a high quality lemon in the kitchen.
You can squeeze the juicy pulp to marinate fish, meat, or simmply adding it to water in the morning.
Zest and skin in general can be used in a milion ways too.
-Ornamental: It’s a beautiful lemon variety for its particular shape.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
