DESCRIPTION
Variegated Limette (Citrus limetta foliis variegatis) is a particular variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
We still don’t know its origin at the moment.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is usually compact to spherical in shape, sometimes thorny and medium in vigour.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate and variegated in colour.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit looks like a lemon in size and shape.
-Flavour: Skin tends to be aromatic, pulp juicy, seedless and refreshing.
-Colour: Fruit is variegated at first, then it becomes light yelllow in coolour.
Pulp is light yellow in colour.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: Variegated Limette is a 4 season variety.
It can produce fruits every season of the year.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time, but flowers can be produced during Summer and Autumn also.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: This is a high quality limette.
It’s a great choice to give fish and meat recipes a refreshing flavour.
You can zest it or squeeze it to marinate fish, to make cakes and a milion of other recipes
-Ornamental: It’s a good ornamental choice for its variegated colour, and it’s shape.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -4°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
