DESCRIPTION
Israelian Pomelo (Citrus grandis) is a particular big Citrus variety of our collection.
ORIGIN
As the name suggest, it comes from Israel.
PLANT
-Tree features: Plant is highly vigorous, with long and big branches which tend to lignify quickly.
-Leaves: leaves are big, lanceolate, dark-green in colour, with hair at the top of them.
FRUIT
-Shape: Fruit is usually oval to oblate in shape. It’s very big in size, (it can be more than 2kg).
-Flavour: it’s one of the sweetest Pomelo.
-Colour: Light yellow to bright yellow on the outside.
Light yellow inside.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
Season of ripeness: It usually ripens during Winter. However it can hold on the tree for more time.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: It’s pulp is fleshy and sweet.
That’s why Israelian Pomelo can be used to prepare delicious pomelo salads.
Skin can also be candied.
-Ornamental: It’s a strong and vigorous plant to see.
COLD RESISTENCE
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -6°C.
This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
