Sarawak Pomelo (Citrus grandis) is one of the best quality pomelos we have in our list.
-Tree features: Plant tends to be highly vigorous, with long and strong branches, which lignify quickly.
-Leaves: Leaves are so big round shaped to lanceolate, and presents hair on the exterior.
–Shape: Fruit is usually very big (it can weigh more than 2 kg) usually round-shaped. It can also be a little bit pear-shaped.
-Taste: One of the sweetest Pomelo, if not harvested at the right time, it can be a little bit bitter.
-Colour: Light yellow to Deep yellow according to the harvesting time.
SEASON OF RIPENESS
It starts to ripen from November to January according to climate conditions.
It usually blooms during spring, anyway we can find flowers in other seasons too.
HOW TO USE IT
-In the Kitchen: You can use it to make a delicious Sarawak Pomelo salad.
Pomelo can also be used to be candied , or more simply peeling it and eating it like a grapefruit.
-Ornamental: It’s a strong a vigorous plant.
According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.
This variety needs to be grown like a normal Lemon.
