DESCRIPTION
Moro Blood Orange (Citrus sinensis) is a high orange quality of our collection.

ORIGIN

This particular variety, is nowadays a symbol of tradition, quality and Italian culture around the world.
It’s also called “arancia rossa” in southern Italy, where it’s highly grown for its colour and its quality.

PLANT

-Tree features: Plant is medium in vigour, compact-spherical in shape.
-Leaves: Leaves are lanceolate, dark-green in colour, medium in size, and typically close together.

FRUIT

-Shape: Fruit is a small-medium round orange.
-Flavour: Moro Blood Orange is one of the best quality oranges! Skin has a good aroma, pulp is so juicy and bloody in taste.
-Colour: Fruits can be orange to red pigmented, and, according to climate conditions purplish too.

SEASON OF RIPENESS

Season of ripeness: it starts to ripen from January to Spring time, according to flowering time.
It usually starts to bloom during Spring time.

HOW TO USE IT

-In the Kitchen: Fruit can be highly used in the kitchen.
You can zest the skin, but first of all squeeze the amazing pulp to make delicious cakes, marmalades, salads and particular recipes.
I can’t tell you how amazing orange juices are.
-Ornamental: It’s a good ornamental choice for its shape and its fruit.

COLD RESISTENCE

According to our tests, in the Greenhouse, or in a covered area, it can resist to a temperature of -8°C.

This variety needs to be maintained like a normal Lemon.
